Join us July 2 for a Trail Maintenance Workday

June 17, 2023

TRAIL MAINTENANCE WORKDAY;  YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ‘GIVE BACK’ IN APPRECIATION FOR THE TRAILS THAT HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO US
Meet: 9:30 at Camp Nawakwa.  Approximately 4 mile hike on moderate terrain plus 2 hours of trail maintenance work. Learn about what a trail maintainer does and try your hand at basic trail work.  We will be cutting vegetation with hand tools (these will be provided, but bring your own if you have decent hedge shears).  We will hike to the location, work 1 hr, take a lunch break, work another hour, then return to camp.  Requirements; bring plenty of liquid for hydration, a packed lunch and snacks, eye protection; prescription/ or safety glasses, work gloves (camp can provide basic ones), sturdy hiking boots/shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt, and sun and insect protection.
Co-Leaders; Mary James and Ingrid Stauch
Non-Qualifying. Serious rain will cancel.  Contact: Mary James maryelizjames@gmail.com
