Photos from Raymond Torrey Memorial Weekend

July 27, 2026

Susan Shockett videotaped Ray’s entire 5 minute speech. The weather and temperature were perfect. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a delicious meal; clean up was well organized and quick and most importantly it was a warm communal event.

Janet S adds:

After Ray’s interesting presentation about Raymond Torrey, we had an amazing Harriman State Park led presentation called Wild Life Safety Training led by Kyle Strassburg. It was a very well attended event…27 for dinner. I was too busy to take more photos but a special thank you to our grill guys, Mike Poris, Brian Blum and  applicant, Jeff LaFleur. Kitchen crew: Ya Jing Li, Susanne Flower Maryann Poris,  Leni Tabb. In addition the clean up crew was efficient and quickly finished the job before the presentations began.  Everyone did above and beyond their assigned chore and showed true Nawakwa spirit. It was a pleasure organizing and hosting this weekend, and the weather was perfect!
