Hosting Volunteers Needed

May 6, 2026

Nawakwa Keyholders:
We need volunteers to host our weekends and midweeks this season.  Not all weekends in May and June have been filled. July 4thweekend is open as well.  Please look at our calendar below for openings.

Please review the current Hosting and Guest Policies on our Nawakwa website (noany.org/hosting-forms).  All forms can be downloaded from the website. It’s important that the hosts observe these policies and report any difficulties. We’re here to support you and your hosting experience.

Kindly email your hosting selection as soon as possible to the Hosting Committee at hosting@noany.org.  Contact a member of the team if you have questions regarding hosting or need assistance.

Special thanks to those who have already signed up to host this ’26 season!

Photos and news from work day

May 5, 2026

A few pics and updates from this past weekend’s work day. We had a lower than usual turnout so we weren’t able to accomplish everything planned but we did get the cabins cleaned, leaves raked, and basement cleaned out (thanks Lily!). We had a nice lunch from our hosts and for those able to stay late, a very good dinner and conversations too.

The winter ice buildup caused our swim dock to move which required a lot of time to fix. Boats are out but the dock still needs to be set up and no swimming until the floats can be placed.

We were able to finish the last of the emergency repairs for our insurance review with railings now in place. Great to see a couple of very enthusiastic applicants chip in and help.

If you have not yet volunteered, there’s still work to do, just ask Dave  for a list of where you can help. Until then we can at least enjoy the lake from a distance.

Making great progress on emergency repairs!

April 20, 2026

Marty reports:

An awesome effort from everyone who stepped in to help with repairs to our camp Sunday. Thank you Brian, Carl, Linda, Denis, Richard, Bill, Lillian, Jason, Jeff, Laura, Rebecca, and Herman for helping your Camp Nawakwa community. If I forgot a name I’m sorry! We even had a prospective member stop by and I think we’ll see Wilson applying to camp soon.

You were able to address the two largest and most challenging items for our insurance renewal – the concrete bottom step at the main lodge and the drop-off at cabin 6 (each with a gravel landing requiring lots of trips to the rock pile and back). Both look amazing. You also were able to address two additional buildings, and tick off most of the Assessment for the missing/broken slat plan. Of course, kudos to the trail clearing and cabin effort too!

All that’s left to complete by 5/15 – three railings and one stair riser. Please join if you can for the next work effort.

It was great to see the volunteers come together for the benefit of the entire community.
