Camp Nawakwa’s Opening: Work Day and Hosted First Weekend

Note: There are two different signups since this is a two part weekend
(1) Opening Work Day and (2) The Hosted First Weekend.

(1) Opening Work Day May 2
Spring’s arrival means Camp Nawakwa’s opening Work Weekend is almost here! Join fellow members and applicants on Saturday May 2, 2026, to help get camp in top shape for the season. 

The workday begins at 10AM, with a break around 1PM for a hearty complimentary lunch (provided by the Hosting Committee) and work wrapping up by 4PM. It is a great opportunity to work side-by-side, fulfill applicant workday credits, and take pride in our member-driven space. Please RSVP to Dave at cingularsales@gmail.com by Wednesday Apr 29, 2026, and include your lunch preference (omnivore or vegetarian).
 
If there is interest, Dave will host on Fri night prior to opening for anyone that would like to stay onsite, possibly with pizza and a movie.

(2) May 2-3: Hosted Spring Work Weekend with Janet & Anita 

In addition to Saturday’s complimentary lunch for all volunteers, this is the first 2026 hosted weekend!

Menu:

Happy Hour: Healthy tasty munchies: veggies, hummus, cheese, whole wheat crackers, tostitos, etc.

Saturday Dinner: Sautéed chicken and veggies (or Tofu and veggies for vegetarians) with whole wheat pasta (or gluten free pasta if requested) and Janet’s homemade apple oatmeal crunch pie.

Sunday Breakfast: Grilled cheese sandwich with spinach, berries, coffee and tea.

Sunday’s Hiker’s Lunch: Organic turkey and cheese (solo extra cheese for vegetarians) sandwich with organic lettuce and tomato, fruit and granola bar.

Cohosts: Janet Sibarium (registrar) & Anita DieKroger

Please register by Wednesday, April 29th, 9:00 p.m. and specify which meals and if you are vegetarian.
