Annual Labor Day Picnic Sunday, August 31st, 1 p.m.
The Labor Day Picnic has been our largest NOANY gathering for a couple years so it offers a great opportunity to catch up with old and new friends.
This year’s picnic will be Louisiana-cuisine-themed.
A Cajun Shrimp Boil in an enormous pot outside, vegetarian Crab Cakes with Remoulade or Creole Sauce, Rice and Red Beans, Garlic Knots, Sunburst Salad and Mardi Gras King Cake. Whomever finds the baby in the cake receives a crown and will reign over the event.
There will not be a meal on Sunday evening as the picnic will run into late afternoon but anyone staying overnight is welcome to share in leftovers.
Monday’s breakfast on Labor Day will be Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes, eggs and bacon.
A Muffuletta sandwich and chips will be offered for Monday’s Trail Lunch.
Hosts-Lewis Ports and Rosanna Romagnano.
Details to follow.
