News from Ed O’Donnell
The USA Triathlon national championship combined with Toughman festival in Harriman will be held on 9/25 and 26. Saturday will have 4 events and Sunday will have the combined half iron distance national championship. Looking at the bike map, 90% will all be on 7 Lakes Drive, blocking the camp road…from swim start? 7 am??? Till bike finish? Combined swim + bike time = max of 5 hours.
7 Lakes Dr. will not be completely closed, but the Park Police will close sections only when large packs of bikers are passing by. I looked at the map, and my suspicion is that the course will be from Reeves Meadows Visitor area all the way past the Tiorati Circle and half way down to Silvermine Ski Area parking lot. I would just alert anyone going to camp that they will be driving parallel to lots of bikers (not just a handful, per usual, but LOTS more), and turning onto any road (e.g., into camp) will be tricky, as they must cross over bikers.
