Conservation Activity: Invasive Species Removal

• We’ll do invasive species removal on Saturday, July 8 from 9:30-12:30PM. Our leader will be Rich Rockwell from NYNJ Trails Conference. We’ll meet at the Nawakwa gate, as some folks from ACA will be joining us.
• No tools needed, but volunteers should bring sturdy gloves, use appropriate sun protection, and wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts to protect them from poison ivy, ticks, etc.

• Want to host but need a co-host; want to be a co-host but are looking for a host
• Never hosted before—we’ll pair you up with an experienced host
• Are coming up by public transportation –we’ll help with grocery shopping once you arrive

Perfect weather for a hike this past Saturday! Stephanie Lai led a less trafficked 5 1/2 mile route near Pine Meadow Lake, co-led by Susan Shockett. After some challenging climbs in the first half, mountain laurel strewn paths and scenic views rewarded us for our efforts.
