Photos from the Central Park Outing 3/15

March 15, 2025

Our intrepid group went from Gray’s Papaya over to Central Park in search of signs of Spring. We found lots of snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils, plus a few others we couldn’t identify. And plenty of birds to be seen and heard throughout our walk to the Lake, Sheep Meadow, down to the Pond, back to the Mall, the Ramble, and Belvedere Castle.

We haven’t seen this in many years: Winter photos from Harriman

March 5, 2025

Glen shared these great photos from his winter trip to Harriman’s Lake Tiorati. He reported that the lake was frozen over and the park allowed ice fishing for several weeks! It’s been many years since the last ice event.

Only a couple of months until Camp Nawakwa opens for the season!

Photos from the Roosevelt Island walk

February 22, 2025

We had good timing with the weather this day, beautiful blue skies and crisp air highlighting our Roosevelt Island outing. Plenty of good conversations and a few rest stops to enjoy the picture perfect views. The gang wrapped up the walk with the best (and only!) pizza on the island.

Photos from the Roosevelt Island Snow Walk

February 9, 2025

A few pics from our walk around Roosevelt Island. Lots of snow on the ground but by the start of the walk almost everything had been plowed or shoveled off the sidewalks of RI. Weather was nice, with plenty of birds to be seen along the walk, and great views of Manhattan and Queens. And the tram ride was enjoyable too.

Join the next walk on February 22, same place, same start time, just less snow (hopefully)!
