Two Orientation Sessions coming up

July 22, 2022

For new Applicants and current Keyholders who’d like a refresher,  two Orientation Sessions are being scheduled, one for Saturday 8/20/2022 and one for Saturday 9/24/22. Maryann Poris and Ray Kozma will lead the orientations.

Participants can notify either Ray (raymondkozma@gmail.com) or Maryann (maporis@aol.com) that they will be attending.

The starting time will be at 11am and all should meet at camp.

Reminder To All Coming to Camp Nawakwa

COVID -19 infections remain serious concerns for everyone. If you are feeling ill or have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive, please opt to stay home so as not to put other members at risk. Ideally, before coming to camp, members will do a home self-test to ensure that they are negative from a COVID infection. Thank you!

Weekend July 23-24

Join us for a light, delicious, summer meal of Roast Chicken, Spring Mixed salad, green rice and a bean, vegetable casserole for the vegetarians.  Dessert – Apple Challah Betty a la mode.   BYO alcohol.

 

Please email Stephanie Lai @ sclai2007@yahoo.com by Wednesday 7/20/22.  Specific if you are vegetarian and if you are staying overnight requiring breakfast & a packed lunch.

Bastille Day Hosted Weekend 7/16-17 And Weekend Available For Hosting

Dear key holders and applicants:

Weekend July 16-17

Join us for the eighth Bastille Day celebration at Camp Nawakwa!

The theme this year will be authentic French picnic food for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike with some favorite dishes returning. A very French breakfast and trail lunch on Sunday will also be offered.  Please register by Wed. July 14th at 9 p.m. with Jerry Flower. Please indicate which meals you are registering for, names of your guests and if anyone is vegetarian.

Also, attached is read-only spreadsheet that shows available weekends to host, upcoming hosted weekends, and other camp activities such as work days and applicant orientations.

 

Please contact the hosting committee chair below as soon as possible with your preferred hosting dates.  Confirm reservation is on a first come first served basis!  Only the hosting committee can confirm that your requested dates are still available between calendar updates.

Mid-Summer Duck dinner and weekend with Yajing Li and Jill Mendelson 

 

Mark your calendar for July 9-10. Come enjoy an active or lazy mid-summer weekend of hiking, kayaking, swimming, chatting, or doing nothing on the weekend of July 9-10.Carnivores and Herbivores are equally welcomed and entertained. Light appetizers are followed by Duck dinner for meat eaters and a Tofu mushroom delight for vegetarians. And scrumptious pies!   Sunday breakfast is served and lunch bags are prepared for campers.
