June 20, 2023

Perfect weather for a hike this past Saturday! Stephanie Lai led a less trafficked 5 1/2 mile route near Pine Meadow Lake, co-led by Susan Shockett. After some challenging climbs in the first half, mountain laurel strewn paths and scenic views rewarded us for our efforts.

Co-Leaders; Mary James and Ingrid Stauch
Non-Qualifying. Serious rain will cancel.  Contact: Mary James maryelizjames@gmail.com

Learn to Canoe Sail

June 15, 2023

Get excited for a new season of canoe sailing racing at Lake Sebago! Races are held every weekend, July 1st through September 4th, starting from the swim dock at the ACA Camp. Nawakwans are welcome to participate.

New to sailing, or at least to canoe sailing? Save the dates: Saturdays June 24th & July 15th, 10-4pm, for the annual ACA Camp Sebago “free sails”, hosted by Sheepshead Canoe Sailing Club. Learn the ropes with experienced sailors, using a paddle instead of a rudder to steer.

For any questions, please contact Susan Shockett at sshockett@yahoo.com or 917 855 1530.

Reminder: No hummingbird feeders on the porch

June 14, 2023

Attention all Nawakwans:

Hummingbird Feeders are not allowed on the front porch. Our wildlife experts directed us to remove the feeders due to birds getting trapped inside the main lodge.

Feeders are allowed on the trees nearby. Please help, and note feeders will be removed if found on the porch.
